Contentius Hard Fork is a process in which a blockchain is split into two separate chains. This is done in order to upgrade the blockchain or to introduce new features. The hard fork is a permanent divergence from the previous version of the blockchain, and nodes running previous versions will no longer be accepted by the newest version. This process is often used to introduce new features or to upgrade the blockchain.
